Digital Smile Design is a planning methodology that uses high-resolution photographs, video, and digital modeling to design a patient’s smile before any clinical work begins.
The process starts with a comprehensive photographic and video session. Our team captures your face from multiple angles — at rest, smiling, speaking, laughing. These images are the raw material for your smile design, because a smile exists on a face, and the proportions of your face dictate what tooth sizes, shapes, and positions will look harmonious.
Those images are loaded into specialized software that allows our team to digitally design your new smile, tooth by tooth. The software overlays proposed tooth shapes onto your actual facial photographs, creating a realistic preview of how different designs would look on you.
You see the preview. You give feedback. You request adjustments. The design is refined until it reflects exactly what you want. Only then does clinical treatment begin.

For full-arch veneers — where 8 to 20 teeth are being restored — DSD is practically essential. Designing that many teeth to look natural and proportional is a complex challenge that benefits enormously from digital planning.
For smaller cases — a few veneers, a crown, composite bonding — DSD ensures that even modest changes integrate seamlessly with the surrounding teeth and facial features.
